Jordan Adventure Holidays

Wadi RumPetra

For many, the attraction of a trip here is to visit Petra, the “Rose-Red city”. This ancient and amazing place is located in the north of the country. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985 and made more famous by the “Indiana Jones” films.   To get to Petra, one must cross the unspoilt desert landscape of Wadi Rum and according to legend this is what Lawrence of Arabia is thought to have done.   For those seeking adventure and activity, Wadi Rum lends itself to some great walks and hikes, but also camel rides and the chance to sleep under the stars in a Bedouin tent are popular for the less energetic.

Have you ever been to the lowest point on Earth’s landmass?  In the Dead Sea you can float in the dense salty water, an experience you’ll remember for a long time!

Amman, the capital, is well worth a few days if time permits. Here, you’ll see Roman and Greek architecture as well as ancient remains from the Ottoman era.  The local people are friendly, proud of their Arabic culture and often keen to tell you more about their country, often willing to play host or guide.
